Internship: Mapping European Geodata Landscapes
Geogap provides several companies operating in the real-estate market with geodata based on the open Dutch “Basis Registraties”. This data is used for a variety of purposes, such as creating housing price models, automatically generating PDF reports, and for integration in web-based applications. Often, these companies have expansion plans for their businesses into the wider European market. Despite of the INSPIRE-program, the (open-)geodata landscape of Europe vastly differs in each individual European country. Moreover, even within a single country, data quality and availability of geodata sources can vary widely.
The magnitude of these differences in quality, coverage and availability is not well known. This internship thus focuses on mapping the European real-estate related geodata landscape. Once a basic map of the geodata landscape is available, ETL processes are to be developed in order to obtain and maintain these data sources.
